The purpose of this blog is twofold. Firstly, to bring informed attention to some of the areas of our world that receive relatively little, by highlighting important political stories and events across the developing world. Secondly, to give these events some context, by asking one simple question: is the politician/policy/event going to help or hinder the progress of the relevant country? Is the third world country in question going forth (improving), or going fourth (turning into a fourth world country)? The opinions expressed are those of two third-worlders with some education and lots of interest, and doubtless you’ll often think we’re wrong; all comments and arguments are welcomed.
